Okay regarding this phrase 'never say never' has been haunting me and I found some contradiction in it. It's bad enough that the 17 year old keeps singing the irritating phrase repeatedly and it was so disguisting it got stuck into my mind. Yucks
Anyway as I was saying this phrase 'Never say never' is really contradicting.
Let me show u my point of view.
Never means like you did not do something or do not want to do something. Right?
E.g I never steal your fries. Means that i didn't steal your fries.
Okay so here comes the irony.
What if I ask u ' Would you give up on this love?'
&& you think that you are a smart Alec and replied 'Never say never'
Here's how I interpret your situation
Never= Didnt or dont want to
So never say never means u dont want to say Never.
So it means u dont want to say no, which means you want to agree with it.
Wait, Doesnt 2 negatives make the statement postive?
So in fact your reply is ' YOU WANT TO GIVE UP ON THIS LOVE'
So in fact this 'Never say never' = Saying okay to the statement.
Like,
'Are you disguisting' ?
'Never say Never'
= I didnt say im not disguisting, so IM DISGUISTING.
HAHAHHAHAH.
You get my point? I duno but it jus sounds weird to me. Because 2 negatives will surely cancel each other.
So u cant use 'Never say never' to reject someone's offer or any other negative things.
You can only use this phrase when you want to accept somethings like
'Are you hungry?'
'Do you want a million dollars?'
'Want a free laptop?'
Yea somewhere along that line. HAHAHHAH.
Okay im being really random, but i felt like i need to rant about this gross phrase.
